The Stormwater Management StormFilter Receives Blanket Adjustment for Basic Treatment in King County, Washington

WEST CHESTER, Ohio, March 20, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The King County Department of Development and Environmental Services has issued a Blanket Adjustment for Basic Treatment for the Stormwater Management StormFilter(r). With this Blanket Adjustment, the StormFilter with ZPG(tm) media at a flow rate per cartridge of 7.5 gpm is now accepted for Basic Water Quality Treatment Standards (TSS) as a stand-alone treatment BMP.

The StormFilter with CSF(r) leaf media was accepted in 1998 for meeting the County's standards for Enhanced Water Quality Treatment (metals). The blanket adjustment was obtained based on the extensive field testing using the TAPE, which was completed to demonstrate that the StormFilter meets Washington Department of Ecology water quality goals. In January 2005, the StormFilter received the General Use Level Designation for Basic Treatment. The StormFilter is the first and only stand-alone proprietary technology that has received this designation by Ecology.

"This adjustment provides additional stormwater treatment alternatives for engineers and developers who need to satisfy the County's requirements," said Area Manager Michael Macnoskey, P.E. "Our goal is to offer our customers the stormwater treatment and detention products that help them meet the requirements of every site."
