Over 8,500 Internet Sessions Taught in First Year of UCS' Comprehensive Training Program

HOUSTON, June 29, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- In the first 12 months of the Comprehensive 'Net Class program, Universal Computer Systems (UCS) instructors taught more than 8,500 sessions via the Internet. Although UCS has been offering 'Net Classes since July of 2002, last year was the first time all major courses were offered as a part of Comprehensive 'Net Classes.

Comprehensive 'Net Classes are designed to help dealership employees learn the UCS Computer System. Classes are taught by certified instructors via the Internet, thus minimizing travel and accommodation costs. The UCS Software Education Department offers these complete, interactive 'Net Classes for all major software applications. 'Net Classes are provided in 90-minute sessions, which enable dealership employees to easily customize training around their daily work schedule.

"In the past, going to computer training classes was difficult because it required key people to be out of the dealership, often for days at a time. That was the old way. The new way to train is to close your door, put on your headset, and take a (UCS) 'Net Class. It is phenomenal. You get all the benefits of classroom-based training and none of the drawbacks," expressed Brian Paschal, IT Director for Cavender Automotive.

During a 'Net Class, participants use virtual workstations to immediately apply new concepts being taught. UCS instructors monitor all participant activity during class and can instantly determine if a student is off-track. For times when one-on-one attention is needed, the instructors can connect directly to individual workstations and provide personal assistance. In addition, periodic questioning is used during each session to test participants' levels of comprehension and identify areas needing more instruction.

"Our customers find that 'Net Classes are a convenient and low-cost way to learn about the features of their UCS System. Because Comprehensive 'Net Classes provide the same certified instructors, software interaction, and individual attention as with a traditional setting, it is truly like we've brought a UCS classroom right to the dealership," stated Terry Jones, Senior Vice President of Software Support at UCS.

In a continual effort to expand the Comprehensive 'Net Classes program, UCS will be offering a new five-session course on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to be available in the summer of 2006.
