Oilfield Helping Hands Supports Bluebonnet Youth Ranch At Annual Saltwater Fishing Tournament

HOUSTON, July 3, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- In 2007, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services reported 71,344 confirmed cases of child abuse and neglect; 223 of those were fatalities. Located just outside of the picturesque town of Yoakum, Texas, Bluebonnet Youth Ranch, a 501(c)(3) non-profit child-care facility founded in 1972, is one of countless groups statewide working to address this critical concern, and seeking to create a safer, happier and healthier life for Texas' children. Oilfield Helping Hands is proud to be supporting the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch in conjunction with its annual saltwater fishing tournament fundraiser to be held July 24-25, 2008 in Port O'Connor, Texas.

Oilfield Helping Hands, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization comprised of volunteers primarily from the oil & gas industry devoted to providing financial assistance to Houston-area oilfield families in crisis, holds four annual fundraising events with all proceeds going towards providing assistance to its recipients. One of the highlights of the OHH's annual fundraising lineup is the saltwater fishing tournament. All monetary proceeds raised at the fishing tournament through registration fees, sponsorships and donations, will go toward benefiting OHH recipients.

In addition to the normal activities connected with this OHH fundraiser, each year children from the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch, having met certain criteria implemented by the Ranch administrators, are sponsored and chaperoned by one or many of the OHH's representative companies, corporate members or individual members. This year, 11 eager children from the Ranch who have applied themselves above the normal standards, will be attending the OHH's annual saltwater fishing tournament. Oilfield Helping Hands is honored to support the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch in the pursuit of providing these children a happy, safe and well-formed life. Not only do these children get to enjoy a little fun for their hard earned work, they walk away from the experience with a renewed sense of love and self-worth. In addition, ALL officially weighed-in fish caught during the tournament will be donated to the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch.

Since 2003, Oilfield Helping Hands has assisted more than 45 families with more than $575,000 in financial aid. Oilfield Helping Hands invites you to join in its continuing effort to provide needed financial support for some of our oilfield families.
