Oil Industry Volunteers Have a Big Heart

Oilfield Helping Hands Raises Funds for Affected Families

HOUSTON, June 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Oilfield Helping Hands, an organization where people join together to give back to others, announced today that its volunteers will host a Sporting Clays Fundraiser for victims of the recent explosion on the Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling platform. The event will be held in conjunction with other organizations on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Baroid on the Brazos in Fulshear, Texas.

According to Richard Saxon, Vice President of Oilfield Helping Hands, "The entire oil and gas industry is deeply saddened by this tragic event, and we are honored to participate with other members of our community in helping those affected. All proceeds will be dedicated to families of victims of the blowout that occurred on April 20th in the Gulf of Mexico. The proceeds will be divided, with half of the proceeds set aside for families of rig workers on the Deepwater Horizon and the other portion dedicated for future education needs of children of those same families."

Saxon adds, "We are extremely grateful for the big-hearted responses from other organizations that want to help. The Houston Oilman's Invitational Shooting Tournament (H.O.I.S.T.) has generously donated $15,000 to OHH for direct distribution to the families affected by this tragedy. This kind donation, along with the funds generated from the September 25th Clay shoot, will positively impact the lives of so many in need of help and hope." (www.hoistusa.org)

In addition to the Sporting Clays Fundraiser, Oilfield Helping Hands is hosting two other events during 2010 to further the fundraising for OHH award recipients. The Sixth Annual Saltwater Fishing Tournament will be held at Port O'Connor Community Center at Port O'Connor, Texas on August 12th - 13th, and the 2010 Annual Helping Hands Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, September 27th at Black Horse Golf Club in Cypress, Texas.

"Contributions enable us to serve those who need help during this difficult time," explains Saxon. "We recently received a $100,000 donation from Hunting PLC in connection with the international oil service company's 2010 Hunting Art Prize. In addition to fulfilling its goal of changing the lives of Texas artists, the Prize will also change the lives of the people we serve." (www.huntingartprize.com)
