Former Head of Hummer and Cadillac Joins AMP's Board

BLUE ASH, Ohio, Oct. 12, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AMP Holding Inc. (OTCBB:AMPD), a company engaged in the emission-free electrification of OEM vehicles, announced today the addition of James E. Taylor to its board of directors.

Jim Taylor has three decades of automotive experience in three countries.  Most recently, Jim served as CEO of Hummer during the divesture. Prior to that, he was general manager of Cadillac, responsible for the product planning, marketing, promotional and sales activities that significantly contributed to Cadillac's global renaissance.

Steve Burns, CEO of AMP, said, "Jim has spent 15 years of his career launching new cars into the marketplace. He's played a critical role in leading the development of new models – literally taking them from the drawing board to the showroom floor. He has that true entrepreneurial mindset and drive, and a collection of experiences that should contribute vastly to our endeavors."

Prior to his role as Cadillac general manager, Mr. Taylor was a vehicle line executive for Cadillac, directing the planning, engineering and manufacturing of the award-winning ground up Cadillac CTS, SRX and the STS models, which contributed significantly to the resurgence of Cadillac. Jim began his GM career in 1980 with GM of Canada as an industrial engineer and held numerous production and purchasing positions during his tenure at GM. Jim holds a BS in mechanical engineering and management from McMaster University, in Ontario, Canada.

"The realization of the electric vehicle is having a significant impact on the industry - creating a new space for those who participate to enjoy a sense of genuine optimism and enthusiasm. The innovation and interest surrounding green technology has just begun; AMP's technology and vision should position it well to capitalize on the extreme growth this automotive space is about to experience," said Jim Taylor.
