Junior League of Orange County, CA, Inc., Announces 2011 Board of Directors


NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 24, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Junior League of Orange County, Calif. (JLOCC) has announced its Board of Directors for 2011. Members include Denise Scott (President), Kristen Scheithauer (president-elect), Jennifer Pellegrino Jackson (vice president), Sandra Thompson, Ph.D., (finance director/treasurer), Becky Mandich (secretary), Gwendolyn Black (fund development director), Anne Marie Bohrk (training director), Carrie Burton (community director), Kelly E. Cornell (communications director), Valerie Hannah (membership director), Megan Lester (projects director), April Young (senior Strategic Political Action Committee delegate), and Marilyn Sorensen (sustainer advisor).   Lauren Miles is serving as the board assistant.

JLOCC's members actively support the community through collaboration with other Orange County nonprofit organizations.  This year the JLOCC's efforts are directed on behalf of the community in conjunction with groups including the Second Harvest Food Bank Backpack Program, Crittenton Services Connect Program, Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Reading Program, Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Emancipated Youth Program, Kinship Support Services Program, and the League's Bear Hugs and Bear Necessities Program. The JLOCC members also conduct done-in-a-day volunteer projects through Impact Orange County.
