Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Awarded $4.1 Million Contract for SATCOM Equipment to Support Mobile Backhaul

(Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded a $4.1 million contract for satellite communications equipment. The equipment will be utilized by a telecommunications operator to support a mobile backhaul network expansion in Latin America. The contract included a full range of Comtech EF Data's satellite earth station equipment and also included Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc.'s high-power traveling wave tube amplifiers.

Satellite earth station equipment included on the order received includes the CDM-625 Advanced Satellite Modem, the CDM-750 Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modem, complementary redundancy switches and various other equipment including transceivers, block up converters and high-power outdoor solid-state power amplifiers. The CDM-625 combines advanced Forward Error Correction, such as VersaFEC® and Low Density Parity Check codes, with the revolutionary DoubleTalk® Carrier-in-Carrier® bandwidth compression for maximum savings under all conditions. The CDM-750 is a high throughput, point-to-point modem that provides industry-leading bandwidth efficiencies.
