(Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded a $3.2 million contract for satellite communications ground equipment. A mobile operator in Latin America will procure equipment against the contract to support satellite-based mobile backhaul network expansion projects.
The contract covers purchases of Comtech EF Data's advanced communication solutions, including modems and RF products. The Comtech EF Data products are designed and manufactured at the Tempe, Arizona plant. Based on technologies that provide satellite bandwidth efficiency and link optimization, the solutions reduce OPEX/CAPEX, optimize bandwidth and lower the total cost of ownership.
