Washington D.C. Office Opened


WASHINGTON, March 27, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- To further its mission of support for federal agencies and legislative delegation, the American PrePaid Phonecall Association (APPPA) has opened an office in Washington D.C. A new website to support its mission has also been launched. The APPPA is a newly formed association that is dedicated to the promotion of high quality prepaid calling products to consumers.

"Since the focus of our efforts will involve agencies of the U.S. government and consumer groups, many of which are based in Washington, it is natural for us to establish a presence here."

De La Garza is also the president of Monterrey, Mexico based Marcatel, who owns Vivaro in the U.S. A noted telecom industry leader, De La Garza pulled together the leading independent providers of prepaid calling products in January, and led the effort to form an association to promote the industry and its millions of consumers.

APPPA was formed in January 2012, by a group of the leading independent providers of prepaid phone calls, representing a majority of the prepaid calling market. The Association is focused on promoting the use of prepaid calling products, which offer an easy, economical way to make international long distance calls from any telephone. These prepaid products offer consumers a high value alternative to traditional long distance. Prepaid phone calls are the most important lifeline immigrants have to stay in contact with friends and family back home.
