ATLANTA, April 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- REALTORS® throughout Georgia will open the doors to homes across the state during the REALTOR® Nationwide Open House Weekend (NOH) on April 28-29, 2012.
"Our most recent housing data shows that prices are down, closed sales are up and rates remain at historical lows," says Bill Boatman, 2012 President of the Georgia Association of REALTORS®. "Now is an excellent time to purchase a home, and there is plenty to choose from throughout Georgia."
Blue balloons with the REALTOR® logo will indicate to the public which homes are participating in the Open House Weekend. There will be a REALTOR® on duty inside the home to answer consumers' questions about that particular home and the details of buying and selling a home in this market.
"REALTORS® are not there to give anyone the 'hard sell' during the Open House event," says Boatman. "Our goal as an organization is to put consumers in front of REALTORS® to get the real story on what's happening in their local market. This face-to-face dialogue will help consumers determine if now is indeed a good time to purchase a home, or to put their own home on the market."
REALTORS® will educate consumers on why now is a great time to buy with low interest rates, historically low prices, and plentiful inventory at every price point.
Georgia's Open House Weekend is a part of the REALTOR® Nationwide Open House event on the weekend of April 28-29. The blue REALTOR® balloons will fly all across the U.S.A. that weekend, welcoming the public to learn more about their local housing market as well as the details involved when buying and selling a home.
