novoGI(TM) Announces New Studies on Compression Anastomosis Presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons (ASCRS) 2012

Lower Than Expected Leak Rates for Lower Anterior Resection (LAR) Procedures

ATLANTA, June 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- novoGI Inc today announced that its nitinol-based compression anastomosis device is being presented at the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons (ASCRS) Annual Meeting on June 2 - 6 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.

Results of data presented at ASCRS 2012, show that the company's clinically proven compression anastomosis device is especially effective in lower anterior resection (LAR) procedures with leak rates ranging from 1.9% to 4%. novoGI is hosting booth number 501.

"Over 10,000 cases have been performed using novoGI's clinically proven proprietary technology. With more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, evidence substantiates clinical results for ease of use, healing processes, and successful outcomes in regard to leak rates for anastomoses in LAR," commented Gavriel D. Meron, president and Chief Executive Officer of novoGI. Mr. Meron continued, "Our proprietary compression anastomosis technology is the recommended device for LAR procedures."

Clinical data relating to compression anastomosis at San Antonio 2012 include:
