In April, 2012, Shelby received the State of New Jersey's Governor's award for over three hundred thousand hours without an injury.

On May 15, 2012, Shelby received TAUC's (The Association of Union Constructors ) Thomas J. Reynolds Awards for Excellence in Construction Safety and Health.  This is the second year in a row that Shelby garnered this prestigious award.

Of course, Shelby Mechanical continues to excel in the capturing safety related awards due to their impeccable safety record and their intolerance for any unsafe practices.  In fact, Shelby has zero reportable incidents since it was founded by contracting industry veterans in 2007.

Shelby utilizes a variety of training programs and processes to ensure that safety is exceptional.  For instance, Shelby is a proud supporter of the Mobilization, Optimization, Stabilization, and Training (MOST) Fund that was established as a joint labor trust fund by the National Association of Construction Boilermaker Employers (NACBE) and the International Brother hood of  Boilermakers.  MOST supports the training of new skills and technology, and supports the training of safe work habits.
