These treatments are designed to correct the underlying cause for pain while reducing the risk for future occurrence. According to Dr. Sirota, these treatments have been successful with 90% of his patients. The chiropractor attributes his high rate of success to his treatment approach.

The Stamford chiropractor advises White Plains and Stamford plantar fasciitis patients to try his approach to treatment. The chiropractor's integrative approach combines chiropractic care with physiotherapy and custom orthotics.

"Stamford and White Plains plantar fasciitis patients choose our center because of our successful treatments," said Dr. Sirota. "If I can help a patient, I let them know right away. Our treatments are typically successful for 90% of patients. If I cannot help a patient, I let them know that too, and refer them to another healthcare provider."

Dr. Sirota begins treatment by examining the foot, evaluating diagnostic X-rays, and taking a full medical history. Information such as health history, daily activities and pain symptoms help him diagnose the extent of the injury.

The plantar fascia is a band of tissue that supports the arches. It stretches from the heel bone to our toes. Plantar fasciitis occurs when this band becomes inflamed, swollen or weak. Pain symptoms include difficulty walking or standing. Pain may lessen with movement, but flare up again later in the day.

Some individuals may also suffer from back or hip pain. This occurs when patients unevenly redistribute weight in an effort to minimize pain in their feet. Dr. Sirota's care addresses both the actual injury as well as secondary symptoms.

According to Dr. Sirota, a misalignment may be contributing to the pain. Other factors include running, walking or standing for long periods. Excessive use can aggravate the misalignment, causing pain in the feet.

Physiotherapy treatments can help strengthen the plantar fascia and support healing, according to the chiropractor. "Hands-on adjustments, as well as physical therapy exercises, restore mobility to the injured foot," said Dr. Sirota.

Dr. Sirota also prescribes custom orthotics. Computerized foot levelers are used to analyze pressure points in the feet, and the custom orthotics are then created from this information.

"We integrate the latest technology into our treatments," said Dr. Sirota. "For example, computerized analysis of pressure points ensures that our custom orthotics truly provide the support and stabilization that our patients need to heal."

Dr. Sirota has over 23 years of experience treating patients for chronic pain, sports injury, workers compensation, and car accident injury.
