ADEA Leadership Institute Class of 2014 Selected


SEATTLE, March 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Promising dental education leaders from across the nation were inducted into the 2014 class of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Leadership Institute during the 2013 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition, taking place March 16-19, in Seattle, Washington.

Each of the 24 ADEA Leadership Institute Fellows was selected for the year-long education experience through a competitive application process. The ADEA Leadership Institute will prepare these Fellows for expanded roles in their institutions and the profession. They emerge not only with the knowledge and skills necessary for their careers, but also with greater self-understanding and deeper personal vision.

Designed to assist the nation's most promising individuals at academic institutions in becoming leaders in dental and higher education, ADEA Leadership Institute sessions cover leadership theory, team building, communications, managing change, public policy, educational policy, legal issues, research, and budgeting and financial management, designed to guide and enhance professional development.

Throughout the year, Fellows will carry out a project relating to a key issue in dental education. Fellows who share similar interests and aspirations work in groups mentored by the ADEA Leadership Institute advisors.

Since its creation in 1999, the ADEA Leadership Institute has had over 250 faculty and administrators from allied, predoctoral, and advanced dental education participate.
