San Diego Chiropractor Says Trial Experience Helps Personal Injury Patients

SAN DIEGO, May 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A San Diego chiropractor claims that his extensive trial experience enables his practice to serve its patients better. Dr. Kien Ta of CK Chiropractic Center explains that the numerous injury accident cases in which he has served as an expert witness have enhanced his clinic's reputation for tackling health problems other facilities may decline to treat. "Our clinic is willing to handle sensitive cases that are still in the midst of litigation, which means we treat patients who might not get the care they need otherwise," he says.

While many chiropractic care centers work with such common injuries as whiplash, herniated discs and pinched nerves as a matter of course, Dr. Ta notes that not all of these facilities will take injury cases in which civil or criminal action has been filed or may be filed in the near future.

This reluctance occurs because the attending chiropractor may wish to avoid being called to the stand to provide the court with expert testimony. "Serving as an expert witness can be a nerve-wracking thing for practitioners who haven't done much of it," says Dr. Ta. "It becomes easier to simply avoid taking the case, which unfortunately forces the patient to continue his search for proper care." The chiropractor adds that timely treatment of whiplash and other accident injuries is critical to prevent internal scarring and other issues from impairing the injured body part's range of motion and ability to heal itself.

Dr. Ta appears to have no such hesitation where these cases are concerned. In addition to being a disc herniation specialist, he also holds board certifications as a Chiropractic Examiner and independent Medical Examiner. Other certifications include those in the AMA Impairment Rating System and as an Industrial Disability Examiner.

"I am frequently asked to appear in work-related accident injury and personal injury cases," Dr. Ta says. The fact that the State of California has also licensed the chiropractor as a Medical Evaluator for workers compensation cases enhances his desirability as an expert witness in these frequently sensitive situations. "Even if the case doesn't go to trial, I'm willing to provide expert testimony in the deposition, mediation or arbitration phases as needed," says Dr. Ta.

All this trial experience has allowed CK Chiropractic Clinic to provide more value to its clientele. "We're not afraid to take these cases because I am always willing to appear in court as a credible expert witness," says the San Diego chiropractor. "Not only do we give our patients the chiropractic care they need, but we may even help them receive compensation for their injuries."

In addition to its work with injury cases, CK Chiropractic Clinic provides chiropractic care, massage therapy and acupuncture for the treatment of chronic pain and diseases affecting the musculoskeletal and central nervous systems.
