Jamieson Ranch Vineyards Announces Daily Wine and Food Pairing

with Executive Chef Brian Overhauser


NAPA, Calif., Sept. 27, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jamieson Ranch Vineyards; home of Reata Wines, is now pleased to offer, "Napa Comfort Food: Wood-Fired & Wine Friendly." Our inaugural food and wine pairing program features sophisticated comfort food with a twist. Executive Chef Brian Overhauser's, casual, yet refined menus offer seasonal, local ingredients when possible thoughtfully paired with flights of Reata and Jamieson Ranch wines.

Reata Winery's founder Bryan Gordon was raised in a family with an affinity for fine food, wine and hospitality. Bryan says, "We are pleased to have Chef Brian join our team and usher us into the experience of wine and food pairings here at Jamieson Ranch Vineyards."

Chef Overhauser earned his culinary degree at the École Ritz Escoffier in Paris. In addition he trained at London's Institute of Masters of Wine. Prior to coming to Jamieson Ranch, Chef Overhauser was Director of Culinary Wine Sales at Hahn Estate.

Chef Brian is known for his keen focus on seeking local, fresh and sustainable ingredients, he has a knack for creating innovative foods that complement the wines featured on his seasonal pairing menus. His vast experience as a restaurateur, chef and wine professional has given him a unique and insightful approach to the pairing of food and wine, as well as pleasing palates.

A sample fall menu from Napa Comfort Food at Jamieson Ranch Vineyards includes a pairing of Reata Napa Valley, Chardonnay with a lovely Shrimp Taco on a Jicama "tortilla," Cilantro, and Fried Leeks. The Rosé of Pinot Noir is paired with Chef's Garden Heirloom Tomato with Pesto, Valley Ford Burrata and Parmesan Crisp. The Reata Pinot Noir is paired with Smoked Pork on a Buttermilk Waffle with Jamieson Ranch BBQ Glaze, and Crisp Shallots. Whether you are visiting as a couple or in a group of sixteen, guests will be treated to a fun and informative tour of the winery prior to being seated, then chef will present the dishes after a brief introduction.
