The Silver&Fit(R) Program Adds Enhance(R)Fitness Exercise Program to List of Endorsed Classes

Training Opportunities Now Available for Instructors

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Silver&Fit Exercise and Healthy Aging Program for Medicare Advantage members has added the EnhanceFitness program to its no-cost or low-cost class offerings. The classes will be available to Silver&Fit members at participating Silver&Fit fitness facilities. The hour-long class focuses on cardiovascular exercise, strength training, balance and flexibility.

"EnhanceFitness is an evidence-based group exercise program that helps older adults at all levels of fitness become more energized and empowered to sustain independent lives," said Silver&Fit Fitness Network Management Vice President Brett Hanson. "It's a great addition to our program offerings."

In studies, the EnhanceFitness class has been shown to help participants:

  • Increase strength. Those who regularly attend see improvements in strength, flexibility and balance.
  • Boost activity levels. Participants grow more comfortable doing activities independently.
  • Elevate mood. Participants say they feel better physically and emotionally.
