GlyEco's New On-Site Lab to Improve Margins and Reduce Costs

The Company Intends to Offer Chemical Testing Services to External Customers in 2015

PHOENIX, Oct. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sustainable glycol technologies leader GlyEco, Inc. (OTCQB:GLYE) ("GlyEco" or the "Company"), completed the initial build-out of its testing laboratory at its New Jersey Processing Center.

"Our engineering team has completed the first steps in creating our state-of-the-art chemical testing lab in New Jersey," stated John Lorenz, CEO of GlyEco. "We are currently using the lab for in-house testing of our production line, and we are already seeing the benefits. We can now process 20,000 to 30,000 gallon batches of waste glycol with greater precision and reduced turnaround times. This will help boost overall production in the coming months as we shift focus from technology implementation to expanding our customer base and growing revenue."

In-house testing provides greater precision over quality control while significantly reducing costs related to external lab fees and shipping. Additionally, the lab enables GlyEco engineers to obtain test results more quickly, leading to increased batch size, reduced production time, expedited product turnaround, and improved margins.

Wayne Merrifield, a leading chemist with 20-years' experience in chemical laboratory management, will oversee the Company's quality assurance program.

"The lab is a key component in our quality assurance program, which is designed to be one of the most rigorous quality programs in any industry," stated Lorenz. "By testing glycols at several points during the cleanings process, our customers can be ensured every batch of our T1 and T2 recycled glycol products meet the highest levels of purity."

Lorenz continued, "Every load of recycled glycol from our New Jersey facility is now shipped with a certificate of analysis which verifies adherence to ASTM specifications. We intend to make exceptional products and exceptional customer service a part of our daily culture. Providing customers with actual test results for their material sets the stage for our quality assurance program."

About GlyEco

GlyEco is a green chemistry company with a patent-pending technology for transforming a hazardous waste into green products. GlyEco Technology™ has the unique ability to clean the polluted glycols from all five waste-producing industries: HVAC, Textiles, Automotive, Airline and Medical. This technology recycles waste glycol to meet ASTM Type 1 specifications – the same level of purity expected of refinery-grade glycols.

This patent-pending technology enables our clients to handle the removal of their waste glycol in a responsible and environmentally safe manner. Our clients can treat glycols as a more sustainable resource, recycling and re-using waste glycols repeatedly. Since most polluted glycol is disposed of in our surface waters - which can have devastating results for the environment, especially aquatic life - the GlyEco Technology™ solution gives our customers a way to reduce waste while caring for the environment, while reducing their costs.

About Glycol Recycling

Recycling waste glycols presents an inventive solution to supply shortages and increasing costs for refinery-produced material. Global consumption for refinery-produced ethylene glycol is over 5.5 billion gallons per year and climbing. GlyEco Technology™ is uniquely able to process all five sources of waste glycols, opening new avenues of supply. With proper handling, glycols can be recycled and reused indefinitely, creating the opportunity to utilize this valuable material as a predominately sustainable resource.
