GREENBELT, Md., Dec. 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With Christmas rapidly approaching, Santa is putting the final touches on his list and checking it twice. Again this year, Presidio and Cisco are teaming up with medical centers across North America to provide children who are hospitalized during the holidays the opportunity to speak to Santa, and let him know which toys they hope to get for Christmas. Santa will visit hospitals from his home at the North Pole, making virtual cyber-stops along the way using the latest mobile and collaboration technologies from Cisco Systems Unified Collaboration platform.
These hospitals, with the help of Cisco and Presidio, are bringing a live feed of the North Pole to their young patients – using either an iPad, or a video monitor and web-enabled camera. Santa will visit with children in the hospital's playroom. For children that are not able to leave their rooms, there will be a bedside visits on a mobile cart or iPad enabled with Cisco Jabber software.
