Renewed Mission, New Resources to Connect, Engage, Equip and Innovate

The Alliance introduces updated website, integrated marketing to better serve Organ Donation and Transplantation community

CORAL GABLES, FLA., Jan. 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- After months of expanding, revamping and enhancing, there is considerable "new" in this New Year for The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance (The Alliance). The independent non-profit dedicated to engaged learning, collaboration and leadership in organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation is kicking off 2015 with a new mission statement, updated branding and logo, completely redesigned website, and new suite of integrated marketing and social media tools.

"We foster connections and processes that save and heal lives," said LeAnn Swanson, Executive Director. "By serving our key stakeholders through improved resources on our new website, and by providing many more opportunities to engage in the digital space, as on our new ODT social media pages – we help them help others."

Incorporated in 2006, The Alliance has united community partners, healthcare providers, policymakers, donors, patients and advocates to ensure a continued national awareness and commitment to the cause of organ donation and to help eliminate deaths on transplant wait lists. The Alliance serves a national cooperative of professional associations, transplant centers, donor hospitals, and organ procurement organizations (OPOs).

"Organ donation is at the nexus of generosity, medicine, and logistics fueled by shared values, knowledge, and purpose...The Alliance makes this possible," said Tom Mone, CEO of OneLegacy, the US's largest organ recovery agency and Chair of The Alliance Board of Directors. "The Alliance brings together a unique constituency of healthcare, donation, and transplantation professionals to serve waiting patients and donor families, by aligning interests, identifying opportunities, and integrating best practices that are shared real-time and nation-wide via white papers, webinars, conferences, and social media."

Debut of the organization's new mission statement, website redesign, rebranding and social media feeds as well as updated email newsletter will begin the formal roll-out. New resources and training will be offered via webinars and also added to the website, LinkedIn page, YouTube channel, Slideshare and other sites throughout 2015 and beyond.
