White Cloud Electronic Cigarettes announces R&D expansion

Tarpon Springs, FL 34689, May 11, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- White Cloud Electronic Cigarettes today announced the expansion of its internal Research and Development program. “We previously outsourced most of our R&D resource to our long-term development partners,” says Matthew Steingraber, co-founder and Managing Director of White Cloud Electronic Cigarettes, “but we have always wanted to bring it in-house where we can have greater control and benefit from accelerated product development.”

The expansion, made possible in part by White Cloud’s recent move to its 20,000 square foot facility in Tarpon Springs, includes the recruitment of Electrical and Mechanical engineers, as well as specific equipment such as 3-D printing capabilities. Steingraber added; “We are actively driving an innovative, patentable pipeline. We hope to have the first two products, resulting from this new development, ready to launch in the next few months.”

Rob Burton, White Cloud’s Director, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs sees the benefit beyond the current product designs: “This in-house development not only gives us a closer link between our consumer research and product innovation, but also allows us to gain greater advantage from our University of South Florida Incubator facility and partnership opportunities, by exploring the potential for transferable technologies beyond just nicotine delivery.”

Matt Steingraber also made the point; “This further expansion in our Florida facility underlines our commitment to US investment, which has already seen the development of our automated filling and packing facility here in Tampa and US-sourced flavorings and ingredients.”
