IPC Healthcare Names New Chief Strategy Officer


NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IPC Healthcare, Inc. (Nasdaq:IPCM), a leading national acute hospitalist and post-acute provider organization, announced today that it has appointed Ron Greeno, M.D., FCCP, MHM to the newly created position of Chief Strategy Officer, where he will be responsible for leading the company's strategic initiatives.

Dr. Greeno served as Cogent's Chief Medical Officer for the company's first 17 years and was also the founder and senior consultant for The Cogent Group, Cogent's consulting division. He is a founding member of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), where he serves on the Board of Directors and leads the organization's advocacy and governmental relations efforts as its Chairman of Public Policy. In addition, SHM has also awarded Dr. Greeno a Master in Hospital Medicine and the SHM Award for Outstanding Service in Hospital Medicine; both awards make Dr. Greeno one of only a handful of individuals to ever receive these distinctions.

Dr. Greeno graduated from the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine in 1979, with Distinction and Alpha Omega Alpha. After completing a medical residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, he completed fellowships in Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and was a Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Immunology and Cellular Physiology at Rockefeller University in New York. He has received board certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
