Tartack Chiropractic and Wellness Center Hopes to Educate Community About Sports-Related Injuries

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 24, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Jeffrey Tartack, chiropractor and founder of Tartack Chiropractic and Wellness Center, seeks to educate Ft. Lauderdale area-residents about the benefits of sports chiropractic therapy for athletes of all sports. The clinic staff strives to be a resource for everyone in the local community, including professional athletes who suffer major injuries on or off the court and anyone new to athletics. Dr. Jeffrey Tartack states, “We sometimes see patients who have injured themselves but refused to take a break from the game, or continued on not thinking it was a serious injury. In the long run, we’ve seen that this can do more harm than good.”

Dr. Tartack of Tartack Chiropractic and Wellness Center has been interested in sports medicine for years.  He’s been part of the medical staff for the New York City Marathon, the Women’s PGA Tour, the US Tennis Association, and several collegiate athletic programs. He’s also a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, American Chiropractic Association and Florida Chiropractic Association.

When patients visit with sports injuries, Dr. Tartack creates a customized treatment plan based on the individual’s health and particular injury. This can include chiropractic adjustments, rehabilitation, physical therapy, and other available services. “Sometimes you’ll feel OK right after the game ends, but once the adrenalin wears off, you might feel some stronger pain,” he said. “Our services can assist in the healing process and get you back enjoying your favorite activities sooner.”

Sports injuries can be anything from trauma from players colliding to overextending muscles to equipment malfunction/mishaps. All of them could result in damage to muscles or misalignment of the spine.  This can cause further pain since other muscles begin compensating.

Tartack Chiropractic and Wellness Center offers chiropractic care for a variety of sports-related injuries, and also offers special rehabilitation programs for two common local activities — golf and tennis. Regular tennis players can receive a variety of wrist, elbow and shoulder injuries from the repetitive motion of swinging and hitting a fast-moving ball. Knees and ankles are also prone to injury from the fast pace and the quick rotations required. Golfers can suffer back, elbow, shoulder, wrist, hip and rotator cuff injuries from the repetitive motion and stresses on the body from all those strong swings, plus the extended walking which may be tiring for someone new to the game.

In both activities, Dr. Tartack can identify a proper range of motion and help correct weaknesses and imbalances, incorrect swings or other body mechanics that could reduce your potential for injury.

Dr. Jeffrey Tartack of Tartack Chiropractic and Wellness Center offers chiropractic care to treat a variety of conditions and offers additional services such as lifestyle advice, nutritional counseling and Kinesio taping. For more information call (954) 764-4042 or www.tartackchiropractic.com.
