Game Plan Announces Partnership with Rutgers University Athletics

Rutgers Athletics enlists Game Plan to bridge the gap between employers, the athletic department, and student-athletes

GREENVILLE, N.C., Aug. 17, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Game Plan, the comprehensive student-athlete development platform that unifies and aligns athletic departments, athletes, and employers, announces its partnership with Rutgers University Athletics. Through this partnership, Rutgers will leverage Game Plan’s newest feature, its Game Plan Career Marketplace tools for student-athlete internship and career placement, as well as employer relationship management.

“As the needs of our student-athletes continue to evolve and grow, we’re looking for new, innovative ways to improve their experiences and support them in achieving better outcomes, and for us, Game Plan helps us to do just that,” said Shawn Tucker, Associate Athletics Director at Rutgers University Athletics & Rutgers Leadership Academy (RLA). “Through Game Plan, we’re able to efficiently connect student-athletes with high-quality employment opportunities and have also created new opportunities for our department to generate sponsorship revenue and manage the various employers and organizations that we work with.”

Game Plan will provide Rutgers student-athletes access to new jobs and internship opportunities from its national network of employers, as well as sponsors, alumni and local employers to Rutgers Athletics.  Rutgers student-athletes will receive the personal and professional development support through Game Plan’s eLearning modules and assessments in order to help support their transitions out of college athletics to life after sports and into the workplace.

“Athletic departments face challenges today when it comes to the job placement of student-athletes and the continued availability of resources and our new career-focused features are developed to help combat these challenges,” said Vin McCaffrey, CEO and founder of Game Plan. “We’re looking forward to working with Rutgers to bring new employer engagement and sponsorship opportunities into their department, while keeping the student-athlete journey at the forefront.”

Game Plan’s newest feature, the Game Plan Career Marketplace is a product aiding organizations in the recruiting and hiring of student-athletes by matching student-athletes and employers around internship and job opportunities. It also aids athletic departments in the management of student-athlete employment opportunities, sponsors, organizations and alumni -- connecting employers, student-athletes and the various segments of athletic departments.
