Deltek’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Ed Hutner, Honored with Urban Empowerment Award from Year Up National Capital Region

Deltek also welcomes its 50th intern from the Year Up National Capital Region program

Herndon, VA, April 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Deltek, the leading global provider of software and solutions for project-based businesses, recently announced that Ed Hutner, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Deltek, has been honored with Year Up’s Pete Kuchli Urban Empowerment Award.

Year Up National Capital Region (“Year Up NCR”), is a year-long workforce development program for low-income young adults. Deltek began its partnership with Year Up in 2010 and since that time has worked with dozens of interns in various functional areas including IT, Customer Care and Marketing. In 2018, Deltek welcomed its 50th intern to the program. Upon completion of the program, many interns accept full-time jobs with Deltek.

The Peter Kuchli Urban Empowerment Award is presented to leaders who share Year Up’s values and vision and who are making a strong and measurable impact on urban young adults. Hutner has been the executive sponsor of Deltek’s partnership with Year Up NCR for three years and has been a champion for driving fundraising, volunteer and mentoring opportunities and sharing his time and leadership through events such as Year Up’s HR Roundtable.

“I’m extremely proud to be receiving the 2018 Urban Empowerment Award. This honor reflects Deltek’s commitment to an organization that provides our company with a talent-ready source of skilled individuals needed to compete in today’s high-tech environment. We look forward to not only continuing our collaboration with Year Up NCR, but also with the goal of encouraging other companies to commit roles for Interns so they too can realize the significant impact Year Up can provide their businesses,” said Ed Hutner, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Deltek.
