SAN DIEGO, May 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- During his speech at the World Healthcare Conference, HHS Secretary Alex Aza states that he wants to do more with regards to the prescription drugs in the US. According to his statement, the department together with the White House is working on a policy proposal that would aid in the lowering of the price of the prescription drugs. However, he didn’t give further details about the discussion.

There are many negative perceptions about the pharmaceutical industry for several years already. According to a survey in 2017 by Gallup, the industry has a negative view of about 50%. There is only 33% who are in favor of the industry’s performance. One of the reasons for the negative review is the difficulty of the patients in purchasing a prescription drug due to its high costs. The situation is not easy for them because most of the patients have to acquire plans just to have a lower price of the medicine.
However, the other observers view the situation as a benefit due to the large expense of the government in terms of prescription drugs. The expense is much larger than those done in the 1980s. But, the plan would still push through due to the aim to lower the price of drugs.
