ARCS #GivingTuesday Kick Starts Vital Giving Season

St. Paul, Minn., Nov. 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In its 60-year history, ARCS Foundation has made almost 18,000 Scholar Awards to academically outstanding U.S. citizens studying to complete degrees in science, technology, engineering, and medical research. Supporting these promising young U.S. scientists in the early stage of their research careers, ARCS Foundation Scholar Awards are recognized for their impact in ensuring the strength of the STEM pipeline, which is fundamental to an innovative and growing U.S. economy. Because much government funding focuses on science in its developed stage, ARCS Foundation fulfills an essential role in ensuring that young scientists may confidently pursue the basic research that is fundamental to scientific discovery.

The continued dedication of the volunteer members and generosity of ARCS supporters has helped provide much needed funding for scientists and their research. ARCS Foundation will continue this tradition by participating in the biggest giving day of the year to raise vital funds that provide support to chapters and scholars, #GivingTuesday. This will be the fourth year that ARCS participates in #GivingTuesday.

“As we envision the future, ARCS Foundation must continue to meet the challenges facing STEM education in the United States. The generous gifts received on #GivingTuesday help ensure that ARCS Foundation perseveres in funding our country's future science leaders for years to come,” said Andi Purple, ARCS Foundation National president.
