Gray Tools Canada Inc. Awards Prizes to Students and School, Winners of the Student Contest

BRAMPTON, Ontario, April 03, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gray Tools has recently announced the winners of its Student Contest, an interactive online competition open to all full-time students enrolled in a trade program at a Canadian post-secondary institution. The contest ran between September 1st and December 31st 2018, giving students an opportunity to win prizes and compete for their school.

Winning students had to collect enough points to finish in the top 151 participants. The game used a dynamic ranking system, which meant the final classification depended not only on personal performance, but also on that of the other participants. Prizes included 50 gift cards redeemable at ShopGrayTools.com, 100 baseball caps and a single grand prize.

Ethan Eddy, the grand prizewinner, became the proud owner of a Gray Tools master set, which includes sockets and accessories, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers and a tool chest. Currently a student at Centennial College - Ashtonbee Campus, Ethan looks forward to building a successful career using his new tools and the skills acquired during his educational years.

The school prize for the most number of students enrolled in the contest was awarded to Centennial College - Ashtonbee Campus. The prize, a $2,500 gift card redeemable at ShopGrayTools.com, was used by school representatives to equip various classrooms with tools that will help the students during their learning journey.

Angelo Spano, Coordinator, Heavy Duty Equipment, and Power Lift Truck, Apprenticeship Programs at Centennial College declared: “We were very happy to create awareness for the Gray Tools student initiative, and encouraged our students to enroll in the contest. This online competition fostered collaboration and competition among our students towards a common goal: winning the school prize. The new tools will be put to good use by the same students who have contributed to the first place finish.”

According to Frank Dominguez, Marketing Manager, Gray Tools Canada, “The Student Contest has been a great success, with students from over 150 campus locations across Canada entering the competition. It was exciting to see the level of commitment and competitiveness displayed by the students. This was certainly the first of many initiatives meant to further our relationship with students who want to pursue a career in trades.’

The Student Contest is part of Gray’s efforts to engage with its fastest growing customer segment, which started with the launch of Gray Tools Student Program last year. The program gives full-time students enrolled in Canadian vocational and trade schools access to industrial quality tools at a discounted price.
