Uplift Education Scholars Celebrate College Acceptance

North Texas’ Largest College Signing Day Set for April 15, 2019


Dallas, Texas, April 12, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Patterned after college football’s National Signing Day, the celebratory event will feature a parade of seniors and a speech from Tony Casillas, Former Dallas Cowboy and two-time Super Bowl champion, and Artie Starrs, President of Pizza Hut U.S. 

At the College Signing Day event on April 15, 849 seniors, approximately 74 percent who are first-generation college students, will come from across North Texas to enthusiastically announce the colleges they will be attending next year. More than 8,000 Uplift Education leaders, educators, scholars, families and community members will come together to celebrate college acceptance for the graduating class of 2019. College Acceptance 

Uplift Education’s 849 seniors from the class of 2019 earned 6,615 acceptance letters to more than 578 unique colleges and on track to $100 million in scholarships and grants (to date), including eight Dell Scholars. The Class of 2019 has 22 acceptances to the most competitive schools, college and universities including: 

Bowdoin College*, Bryn Mawr College*, Carleton College, Case Western University, College of the Holy Cross, Davidson College, Emory University*, Harvard University, Harvey Mudd College, Haverford Colleges, Johns Hopkins University*, Northeastern University*, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Stanford University, Swarthmore College, University of Miami, University of Notre Dame, University of Rochester*, University of Southern California, Vanderbilt University, Washington and Lee University, and Whitman College. *Denotes a partner institution.  

College Signing Day showcases what Uplift Education is all about – giving every scholar the opportunity to enter and succeed in college regardless of ethnic or socio-economic background.
