Jaakko Pöyry Group appointed main engineering consultant for Myllykoski Continental's new paper machine


Jaakko Pöyry Oy, which is a part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group’s Forest Industry business group, has been commissioned by Myllykoski Continental Group to provide complete engineering services for a newsprint machine to be built in Germany. Services include complete plant engineering, erection supervision and start-up assistance. The assignment also incorporates the WebPub document management system based on Jaakko Pöyry’s Model Driven Engineering concept, the ProElina engineering system, and the web technology-based CamC real-time surveillance application. The total value of the contract is approximately EUR 11 million.

Myllykoski Continental’s investment project consists of a new deinking plant, a waste paper storage, a newsprint machine including finishing equipment, a paper warehouse and connections to existing plants. The new production line will have a capacity of 280 000 tons a year. It is scheduled to be started up in the third quarter of 2002.

The contract is a continuation of Myllykoski Continental Group’s and Jaakko Pöyry Oy’s co-operation comprising three deinking plants and one paper mill project.
