Network Computing Names Nokia IP650 A Well-Connected Award Winner

Las Vegas, May 8, 2001- Nokia (NYSE:NOK) today announced the IP650 has been named by CMP Media LLC's Network Computing, for a 2001 Well-Connected Award in the category of Enterprise Firewall System. The IP650, integrated with Check Point Software Technologies' (NASDAQ:CHKP) VPN-1/FW-1 proved itself to be the best Enterprise Firewall System delivering the carrier-class performance, ease of use, and centralized management that managed service provider and enterprise customers have come to depend on.

The IP650 is a complete network security appliance, boasting integrated router functionality that eliminates the need for separate Intranet and access routers in security applications. Nokia's ability to innovate in the areas of performance and secured throughput is enabled through our unique capability to optimize our purpose-built hardware subsystems, with a hardened operating system, IP networking functionality and close working relationships with our software application partners such as Check Point Software Technologies and Internet Security Systems (ISS).

The Well-Connected Award winners are chosen by Network Computing's editors. These IT experts put products and services to the test throughout the year, by comparing performance, features, and functionality to find the best offerings in the enterprise arena.

The winners of the Network Computing Well-Connected Awards were announced at a gala event on Monday May 7th held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, NV. All winners and finalists are highlighted in the May 14th issue of Network Computing and also on Network Computing Online at www.networkcomputing.com.

"The Well-Connected Awards are given to products, technologies and services that have withstood testing in our Real-World Labs®, and proven to be essential to meeting business initiatives," said Fritz Nelson, Publisher of CMP's Network Computing. According to Nelson, "When a product receives a Well-Connected award is an important endorsement - it is in the top in its category and carries through with its promise of excellence."

"We truly appreciate this award from an organization whose rigorous and objective testing puts a credible spotlight on the top products in each class,' said Dan MacDonald, vice president, Nokia Internet Communications. "This award truly validates Nokia's dedication to providing leading network security solutions, delivering on the high standards for security, reliability, performance and confidence our customers need.'
