Pointsec Offered as Service by Telia; Pointsec Mobile Technologies' and Telia's Collaboration Now Also Includes Organizations Which Have Outsourced Their PC Operation to Telia

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 08, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- For some time, Pointsec(R) has been an mandatory security component in the protection of Telia employees' portable computers. Telia and Pointsec Mobile Technologies are now extending their collaboration, so that organizations which hand over the operation of their PC environment to Telia also can include Pointsec(R) in the PC platform which Telia supplies.

The agreement that has been entered into also entails an expansion of Telia's current 3,500 licenses for Pointsec(R) to 5,100 licenses. The number of licenses is being increased in line with employees at Telia or Telia's customers being equipped with Pointsec. Delivery and invoicing took place in June 2002.

"One of the advantages of Pointsec is that the solution can be centrally and cost effectively installed and administered over the network. As a result, we have a unique opportunity to respond to the complex needs of Telia, both for their own employees and for customers, the operation of whose PC platforms Telia manages. For organizations that has chosen to outsource the operation of their PC environment, we consider it a natural choice for them also to hand over operational responsibility for PC-related security to their operating partner," said Hans Strandberg, Sales Manager for Europe within Pointsec Mobile Technologies AB.

Pointsec is a security solution that uses access control and encryption to protect access to information, software and network connections on desktop PCs as well as portable and handheld computers. Only the user able to give the correct identity and password may access the information on the computer. Pointsec has been developed for large organizations, and is designed such that it can be simply and cost effectively installed and administered centrally over a network.

Pointsec Mobile Technologies has previously had considerable success within the IT and telecom sector (Cisco, Ericsson, etc.) and among public authorities (the US Department of Justice, the US Department of Defense, etc.).
