Teleca to deploy delivery system for Telenor

MALMO, Sweden, May 11, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teleca has today been commissioned by Telenor to supply a business process management system to the company that will be used to support and automate the workflow Telenor uses to build network infrastructure.

The system will be used by Telenor Networks' Build Network unit, which is responsible for continually developing networks so that they fully support the services that Telenor customers demand, such as high-quality fixed network, mobile and cable TV services. The new system is expected to provide significant advantages in the form of cost-savings, shorter delivery times and increased delivery precision.

Teleca has been awarded this new project partly because of the success of the previously supplied FLOW platform. A survey carried out by META Group shows that Telenor saved SEK 60 million during the first year the FLOW system was in use. FLOW, which covers all Telenor's fixed network activities, coordinates the delivery of over 2,500 product types supplied by the company. The new system will reuse the same platform.

"We're very pleased that Telenor has once more chosen Teleca to develop a business-critical support system. The new order is a confirmation of the big advantages and savings that Teleca's BPM-to-go concept brings to the company," says Johan Strid, MD of Teleca OSS AB.

Teleca's solution is based on a concept known as Teleca BPM-to-go, which is aimed at companies that manage the ordering and delivery of products and services. One big advantage of the concept is that it is can be introduced quickly. Another is that it supports and automates processes in a way that not only leads to significant cost-savings but also raises quality by shortening delivery times and improving delivery precision, follow-up and control.
