HydroFlo Announces Successful Startup of PLUS System in Pleasant Hills, PA

RALEIGH, N.C., July 30, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- HydroFlo, Inc. (OTCBB:HYRF) today announced that its subsidiary, HydroFlo Water Treatment, has completed the installation and startup of its patented PLUS Systems for wastewater pre-treatment and odor control ordered by Gannett Fleming, Inc. on behalf of the Pleasant Hills Authority in April 2004.

The PLUS system was installed at a lift station with a flow rate of 750,000 gallons per day and a force-main line of greater than 2.5 miles. The system was designed to use oxygen, in order to eliminate the sulfides and resultant odors in the wastewater, and treats the entire volume of the force-main using less than 10% of the flow. Initial results of the system at startup shows that it is performing better than expectations, while controlling odors without the use of chemicals.

The City of Pleasant Hills typically uses chemicals to control odors from hydrogen sulfide created by the anaerobic wastewater. Use of the HydroFlo PLUS System will provide Pleasant Hills with the ability to control odor and corrosion resulting from hydrogen sulfide, reducing or eliminating the use of costly chemicals.

"This installation will provide a benchmark site in the northern mid-Atlantic area, assisting with HydroFlo Water Treatment's ongoing marketing and sales effort to the enormous U.S. wastewater infrastructure. The U.S. market includes some 16,000 publicly owned wastewater treatment plants, 100,000 major pumping stations, 600,000 miles of sanitary sewers, and 200,000 miles of storm sewers, and we look forward to providing our patented PLUS Systems to a growing number of these locations," commented Dennis Mast, CEO of HydroFlo.

"We are extremely pleased to announce this installation and look forward to working with Gannett Fleming and Pleasant Hills Authority and providing solutions to their wastewater treatment needs," added Mr. Mast.
