Scantron Launches New eListen 2005 Survey Software

New Look and New Functionality Make eListen Faster and Easier to Use

IRVINE, Calif., May 16, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Scantron announced today the release of eListen(tm) 2005, a new version of eListen digital survey software which is in use by many of the Fortune 500 companies, major universities and public agencies. eListen 2005 features new functionality and a modernized interface and gives users more options in creating and processing surveys while saving time in planning, administration and analysis.

Scantron modernized the eListen interface to look familiar to users of the Windows(r) XP operating system. eListen users can select from new graphics, wallpaper and clipart when designing surveys for the Web, network and Optical Mark Readers (OMR), which can improve response rates. It is also easier to print or post surveys with new output resources and to read returned surveys with larger Scantron OMR scanners.

"eListen 2005 is a significantly modernized survey software that was built from feedback from our existing eListen customers," said Mark Espinola, president of Scantron's Data Collection division. "We improved usability with a contemporary interface and added new functionality that makes it easier for companies, agencies and educational institutions to use eListen 2005 for all their survey needs. eListen does a lot more for you while requiring less time to manage the software and reports that give you important information about your business."

With eListen 2005 enhancements, some survey and reporting processes are now more than two times faster. eListen Auto-Pump -- an automatic collection tool that aggregates survey data from all input sources -- now runs as a background service and operates transparently without the need for monitoring. This feature frees up the host computer for other uses while processing surveys quicker. In addition, Batch Processing saves scanning time and increases accuracy by automatically assigning batches of surveys to a user-determined code that can denote courses, respondent groups, or other differentiators.

With the new Rejection feature, data integrity is maintained by preventing surveys with missing information like ID numbers and section codes to be included with the surveys that are complete. The user can then manually address each rejected form while the system continues to process correctly filled-out surveys. eListen 2005 automatically checks for updates to ensure that the latest version is installed and it includes a Feedback tool to keep Scantron in tune with its customers.

eListen 2005 is a survey and collection software that includes powerful statistical analysis tools and reporting features. eListen surveys can be deployed via many electronic formats including Web, local network, e-mail, diskette, kiosk or hand-held device or via paper formats using Scantron OMR forms or plain-paper forms. eListen is used by colleges, K-12 school districts, businesses, universities and government agencies for employee surveys, collecting customer feedback, opinion polls, and more.
