HCC Announces Reorganization and Expansion of Its International Operations


HOUSTON, Nov. 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) announced today the formation of HCC Insurance Holdings (International) Limited (HCCI), based in London, England, which will act as the holding company for all international operations.

Additionally, all underwriting operations in the U.K., other than HCC Global Financial Products (HCCG) and future subsidiary Illium Underwriting, will be integrated into HCC International Insurance Company PLC (formerly De Montfort Insurance Company PLC), subject to regulatory approval. Rattner Mackenzie, the group's London-based insurance broker, HCCG and Illium will remain independent reporting with HCCI to Chief Executive Barry J. Cook. In connection with this restructuring, the following promotions have been made:
