FHLBank of Des Moines SEC Registration Becomes Effective


DES MOINES, Iowa, July 11, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines announced that its registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) became effective today, July 11, 2006. As part of the registration process, the Bank filed an amended Form 10 Registration Statement with the SEC on July 10, 2006, that included financial statements for the quarter ending March 31, 2006.

"The Bank's registration with the SEC will provide assurance to our member financial institutions as well as investors in our debt securities that we remain committed to the highest standards of financial reporting and transparency," said Richard S. Swanson, president and CEO.
