Delta Doubles Flights Between New York City and Chicago

Increased frequency, direct access between New York's Marine Air Terminal and Chicago-Midway a plus for business travelers

NEW YORK, Nov. 28, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines customers in New York and Chicago will find it easier to do business between the Big Apple and the Windy City with new nonstop service between New York's LaGuardia Airport and Chicago's Midway Airport, and additional service between New York's JFK Airport and Chicago-O'Hare, effective Feb. 15, 2007. The new service offers customers a Delta Shuttle-like experience for travel between two of the nation's largest business markets with convenient, regularly timed nonstop flights between LaGuardia and Midway.

With the new service, Delta will offer customers 12 daily departures between airports in New York and Chicago, including seven new departures between LaGuardia and Midway, and five daily departures between New York-JFK and Chicago-O'Hare -- double the number of flights offered between the two markets today.

"Delta continues to make the travel experience more enjoyable for our customers as we expand in New York with additional nonstop flights to the country's top business markets," said Bob Cortelyou, vice president -- Network Planning. "With increased frequency and regularly timed flights, plus the added convenience of Chicago's close-in Midway Airport and the Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia, we're offering customers the fastest way to travel between Manhattan and downtown Chicago. And, with our two-class Embraer E170 aircraft, customers will find Delta's service as comfortable as it is convenient.

"Additionally, our expanded service between O'Hare and JFK will offer Chicago customers connecting opportunities to more than 30 international flights serving five continents from Delta's New York hub, including nonstop service to Mumbai, India and new nonstop service to Accra, Ghana, starting Dec. 11, 2006," Cortelyou said.

As an added benefit to Chicago customers, Delta's new service to Midway will operate from Delta's Marine Air Terminal -- the preferred terminal at LaGuardia. The Marine Air Terminal is conveniently located away from the high traffic of LaGuardia's main terminals and offers customers upgraded business amenities such as free coffee, newspapers and magazines, as well as a full-service business center.

The new flights between LaGuardia and Midway, which replace current service between LaGuardia and O'Hare, will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Shuttle America using the passenger-preferred 70-seat Embraer E-170 with six seats in the first class cabin and 64 seats in the economy cabin. Flights between JFK and O'Hare will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Comair using the quiet and comfortable 50- and 70-seat Bombardier regional jets.
