Gentex Receives Its First "President's Award" From CAMI Automotive

ZEELAND, MI--(Marketwire - October 12, 2007) - Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ : GNTX ), the
U.S.-based lead supplier of automatic-dimming mirrors to the worldwide
automotive industry, has received the "2007 Model Year President's Award"
from CAMI Automotive Inc. (CAMI). CAMI is an independently incorporated
joint venture between Suzuki Motor Corporation and General Motors of Canada
Ltd. The President's Award is presented annually by CAMI to its best
overall suppliers in the areas of quality, delivery, service and cost.
Gentex was one of only a dozen suppliers recognized for meeting CAMI's
highest standards for model year 2007.
The award was presented to Gentex at CAMI's recent Annual Supplier
Conference held at CAMI's facility in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada.
CAMI began production in 1989 and in January 2006, produced its two
millionth vehicle. After building vehicles in the economy SUV/car segment
for many years, CAMI commenced production of its first crossover SUV in
2004. The joint venture currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac
Torrent for GM and the Suzuki XL7 for Suzuki. Gentex supplied interior
auto-dimming mirrors for the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent.
