Evans, who is currently recording his major label debut, is one of the "new crooners" keeping the standards alive. On his debut CD, eight of the twelve songs to be recorded were written by Evans himself.

"As a democrat, I was thrilled to meet Governor Huckabee. He was very personable, and I got the vibe from him that he really is the genuine article," says Evans.

Formerly an actor, Evans guest starred on such shows as "Full House" and "Beverly Hills, 90210." He is also co-creating a comic book, and one of the tracks on the new CD will be co-produced by Ahmet Zappa, the son of legendary rock musician Frank Zappa.

"Ahmet has been one of my best friends for years, and I couldn't be more thrilled than to have him involved in this new CD," he says.

Evans himself once ran for the U.S. Senate in Hawaii in 2004, finishing second place out of eleven candidates during the primary. "I ran to see what the process would be like, and I voted for myself, too," Evans jokes.

The new CD will feature tracks entitled "Planet Blue," "Croonerman," and "Place Your Bets" and will feature four covers including "Tainted Love."

This year has been a busy year for Evans, with his track "It Had To Be You" airing worldwide on the hit Fox television show "So You Think You Can Dance," and ABC licensed Evans' version of the song "Witchcraft" for the Dylan McDermott show "Big Shots" which debuted in September of last year.

"2008 is going to be a very busy year, and it will place me in a competing position," says Evans. The new CD is being produced by the Grammy nominee Chris Walden, known for his work with Michael Bolton, among others.
