Haverhill Native Has Words With Mike Huckabee

HAVERHILL, Mass., Jan. 5, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Brian Evans, the singer who is originally from Haverhill, Massachusetts and who opens for the likes of Jay Leno, Joan Rivers, and Social Distortion during their live concert performances in Las Vegas, and is now currently recording his major label debut, had the luck of the draw while performing in Austin, Texas.

He got the chance to meet, and discuss politics with, Republican front-runner Mike Huckabee.

Evans, who once ran for the U.S. Senate himself in 2004 while residing in Hawaii as a Democrat, says that the experience was an interesting one.

"Mike Huckabee is a great guy, seriously. He really is the genuine article, and he's the first guy I've met that really makes you think that you might be able to cross party lines and vote for someone like him. I've never been about the politics as much as the person," says Evans.

Brian Evans is currently recording his new CD. As one of the "new crooners," Evans is recording eight original songs of the twelve tracks that will be featured on the album. Ahmet Zappa, son of legendary rock musician Frank Zappa, will co-produce one of the tracks.

"This year is likely to be my most successful year, finally able to compete," says Evans.

Brian's last independent title is available at either iTunes or can be purchased in physical form at www.bmgdirect.com.

Brian's MySpace page is www.myspace.com/brianevansonline, and his main website is www.brianevans.com
