His name is Brian Evans.

Evans, who began his croon career alongside Michael Buble' back in Vancouver, sat patiently as the machine got behind Buble' before it did Evans.

"I was on a roll. My dad died, I lost my head, and I became off track. Now I'm ready for my turn," says Evans.

That is exactly what he intends to do.

Those of you who have watched "So You Think You Can Dance" have undoubtedly heard Brian Evans sing "It Had To Be You" during Danny & Anya's "FoxTrot", and on ABC's "Big Shots" starring Dylan McDermott.

The new album separates Brian from his competitors, because he's not just rehashing songs that others have recorded a dozen times, as his competitors have...but he's also recording original material. In fact, 8 of the 12 tracks on the forthcoming CD, to be produced by Grammy nominated Chris Walden (with one track produced by Ahmet Zappa), were written by Brian Evans himself.

The new songs include "Planet Blue", "Croonerman," "Place Your Bets" and "I'm A Traveler." Covers will include the old Sheena Easton tune "Morning Train" and "Tainted Love" from Soft Cell.

"It's not enough to write an original song if it's just to obtain radio play in a format that is different than the crooner genre. Don't use the crooner genre to become Anne Murray," says Evans. "Just be Anne Murray, but don't smack Sinatra in the face pretending you are him," he says.
