The Latest Addition to Buffalo's Award-Winning Line of Network Storage Solution for SMBs Offers Reliability and Easy Integration Into Any Work Environment

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- 2008 CES (Booth #: Renaissance 26) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions today announced its high performance TeraStation Pro II Rackmount -- Buffalo's new rack mountable NAS (Network Attached Storage) solution, available in capacities of 1.0TB (TS-RH1.0TGL/R5), 2.0TB (TS-RH2.0TGL/R5) and 4.0TB (TS-RH4.0TGL/R5).

The new rack mountable TeraStation Pro II is a reliable, high performing and easy to use NAS device designed for SMBs who need a high performance, yet inexpensive network storage solution at a price point that was previously available only to consumers. The new TS Pro II also includes Buffalo's new 3-year warranty. The extended warranty addresses many requests from SMB and other business customers to receive extended product support.

"With the fast pace of business today, the TeraStation Pro II is the ideal solution for businesses to protect and share their mission critical files," said Takayuki Nishioka, CEO of Buffalo Technology, USA. "Buffalo is committed to developing high quality, high performance products that will help your business run smoother and more efficiently without breaking the bank."

Buffalo's new TeraStation Pro II Rackmount integrates seamlessly into your work environment and includes a screw-less front bezel, which protects the four quick swap hard drive trays. The trays are conveniently located behind the front panel, so they can be easily accessed and replaced even while the unit is mounted in a rack or cabinet. The second generation system architecture provides higher performance with faster processor speeds and new DDR2 memory. For maximum flexibility and reliability, the TeraStation Pro II Rackmount comes equipped with four high speed 7,200 RPM SATA hard drives. It also offers five RAID modes: RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10, and JBOD (Spanning).

With its easy setup wizard and intuitive Web interface, product installation and management of your files has never been easier. The TeraStation Pro II Rackmount includes an LCD front panel display, indicating the status of your system and disks as well as a silent, yet efficient cooling fan to help release heat effectively. The unit comes with Active Directory Support, which allows the device to utilize domain users and groups in a Microsoft AD network environment. Extra drives can easily be connected via the two USB 2.0 ports, allowing for additional storage and backup. The product fits a 19" rack and has a 2U form factor. Other features of the TeraStation Pro II include the built-in FTP server, 10/100/1000 Ethernet with jumbo frame support, and DFS (Distributed File System Support). It also includes Memeo's easy-to-use AutoBackup software, which is perfectly suited for businesses with limited IT resources or expertise.

Backed by a limited three-year warranty and toll-free 24/7 technical support, the TeraStation Pro II Rackmount will be available at the end of January 2008 at estimated street prices of $899 for the 1TB (TS-RH1.0TGL/R5), $1,299 for the 2TB (TS-RH2.0TGL/R5) and $2,299 for the 4TB (TS-RH4.0TGL/R5) versions.
