An Unsung Anthem and a Continuing Journey Through Life -- New Book is a Fascinating Biography of a Bahamian Soldier's Survival in the U.S. Army Before, During, and After

MIAMI, Jan. 23, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- In life, there will be people who think themselves superior to you. Discrimination is inevitable -- especially when you're the only black soldier in one regiment of the U.S. Army. Author Paul Garret Gibson, together with his wife, Phyllis Hilda Rose Gibson, share the story of his life and how a Bahamian soldier like him survived in the U.S. Army through their book, An Unsung Anthem.

An Unsung Anthem consists of fascinating short stories that actually happened to Paul Gibson. Gifted with a photographic memory, he tells the events as they are with vivid details of how they truly occurred. The pivotal details of his life are described: birth, an arranged marriage, joining the U.S. Army, returning to Bahamas -- and this book paints a vibrant picture of the colorful life that he has led. Gibson recalls that being brought up in the Bahamas, he felt like he was equal to any man or woman. No amount of Army bullies and the like broke his spirit or prevented him from fighting for his rights. An Unsung Anthem marks his continuing journey through life where he hopes to learn something new each day and live each tomorrow with promise.
