Photo Release -- Look Out World, Here Comes Crooner Brian Evans

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Just when the world thought there was only one crooner handed the keys to an entire genre, here comes Brian Evans.

"What is going to separate Brian Evans from the other Sinatra-styled crooners is that he not only covers various songs on this new album, but he also writes his own material and firmly maintains sticking with the genre," says publicist Mark Biltz.

Evans has penned songs entitled "Croonerman," "Planet Blue," "Most of All," "Place Your Bets," "I Was Just Playin," "Sunshiny Man," "I'm A Traveler," and will cover the 80's hits "Morning Train" (Sheena Easton), "Tainted Love" (Soft Cell) and "First, Last, My Everything" (Barry White), among others.

Grammy nominated producer Chris Walden is producing, and Evans is in talks to perform a duet with "an international superstar with a voice the world really hasn't heard the full scope of yet," says Biltz.

One track, "Super Spy", will have a "James Bond feel," says Evans. There will be about 55 musicians in the big band that will be recording the CD.

"We're not playing around. This is the CD I've wanted to do my entire life. I wasn't ready to before," says Evans.

"This record will be distributed all over the world, and more than anything, we're very impressed with the original material more than anything else. It's exceptional, and they have the potential of being instant classics," says Biltz.

"I'm happy about writing most of the material because I got sick of announcing what songs I was going to record only to find them released on my competitors CD a few months later. No one can grab an idea I had that I wrote," says Evans. "Frankly, I think this material will add a much needed jolt to a music industry that keeps signing bands that all sound alike."

Evans credits music mogul Guy Hands, who just purchased EMI, with helping to reshape the music industry.

"There needed to be someone out there who gave this business an enema," says Evans.

Evans has performed as the opening act for Jay Leno, Joan Rivers, Dionne Warwick, Lou Rawls, Social Distortion, and Better Than Ezra. He has performed thousands of shows in Las Vegas.

The singer has nothing but praise for his competition.

"If my competition failed, I'd be out of a job. Their success proves to the labels that there is indeed a huge international market for this genre that they were up until now afraid to touch. It's hard to say they don't get it when other crooners are selling millions of CD's and packing arena's," says Evans.
