LOS ANGELES, Feb. 21, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- One of the newest "crooners" in the swing music genre is headed to Malaysia for a private concert. "This is Brian's first chance to introduce what an intriguing and compelling singer he is to this wonderful part of the world," says publicist Mark Biltz. "Brian loves Asia and has been there several times."

The new album will feature eight original songs penned by Evans, and five covers. It is being produced by Grammy nominated producer Chris Walden.

Brian's music is available internationally through iTunes and all other download websites throughout the world. His previous independent release, which is also his final indie release, remains the only independent CD signed by BMG Direct through their online membership service, formerly known as Columbia House. The previous CD may be obtained at www.bmgdirect.com.

Evans has opened for Jay Leno, Joan Rivers, Social Distortion, Dionne Warwick, and a host of others prior to launching a show at The Desert Inn in Las Vegas in the late 1990's.

Brian's MySpace page is www.myspace.com/brianevansonline, and the official site is www.brianevans.com.

"I am really looking forward to the wonderful audiences in Asia. There is nothing I enjoy more than performing for this classy group of people who really understand and appreciate this style of music," says Evans.

Brian Evans and Michael Buble' began their careers at the same nightclub in Vancouver.

"We are actively pursuing a full Asia/Australia schedule to surround the Malaysia performance," says Biltz. "We're overwhelmed by the response. Brian Evans is the best at what he does, and that will be known soon enough."

Evans is one of the "new crooners" in the genre of swing music, often compared to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Harry Connick, Jr.
