Northrop Grumman Consolidates Information Technology Services for Hanscom Air Force Base

MCLEAN, Va., March 13, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) was awarded a task order under the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) program to provide desktop and network support services to the U.S. Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., which will centrally manage the base's information technology (IT) infrastructure.

Under the terms of the Integrated Communication and Information Services task order, Northrop Grumman's IT sector will help Hanscom Air Force Base build a strategic plan to consolidate base-wide IT services, including information assurance, customer service and Web services, which will result in cost savings for the base.

The Integrated Communication and Information Services task order is valued at $43.8 million over one base year and one option year.

"Consolidating Hanscom Air Force Base's IT services will be a cost-effective solution for the Air Force, and as a result, help better serve the base's customers," said Catherine Kuenzel, vice president of enterprise infrastructure services and solutions for Northrop Grumman IT.

As part of this contract, the Air Force has the option to tap into Northrop Grumman's National Work Force Centers, which provide quality products and services to government and commercial customers. These high-technology centers are located across the country as a means to employ highly-skilled IT talent in less-populated areas and as an alternative to off-shoring jobs.

The Air Force NETCENTS program is a five-year indefinite deliver/indefinite quantity contract to provide IT product and services. Northrop Grumman was awarded the NETCENTS contract in September 2004.

Northrop Grumman's teammates on this task order include Lockheed Martin, Bethesda, Md.; Oasis Systems, Lexington, Mass.; and CCS Presentation Systems, Chelmsford, Mass.

Northrop Grumman Corporation is a $32 billion global defense and technology company whose 120,000 employees provide innovative systems, products, and solutions in information and services, electronics, aerospace and shipbuilding to government and commercial customers worldwide.
