Globalstar Purchases Additional Appliques for Satellite Simplex Data Coverage

Radyne Corporation's AeroAstro to Supply Proprietary Hardware Needed to Provide Simplex Data Coverage for Customers


MILPITAS, Calif., March 19, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Globalstar, Inc. (Nasdaq:GSAT), a leading provider of mobile satellite voice and data services to businesses, governments, and individuals, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Radyne Corporation business unit AeroAstro to purchase additional AeroAstro SENS (Sensor Enabled Notification System) Appliques, which are used to expand Globalstar's Simplex data geographic coverage.

The SENS applique is a proprietary digital signal processing infrastructure component that receives and decodes asset tracking and monitoring data from field transmitters via the Globalstar satellite network. According to the agreement, AeroAstro will provide Globalstar with the applique hardware, including asset tracking satellite downlink decoder racks and spares kits, plus the necessary software upgrades.
