EarthLite(R) Announces New Plant-A-Tree Partnership to Grow Existing Corporate Environmental Sustainability Program

New Partnership With American Forests(R) Continues Effort to Reduce EarthLite's Carbon Footprint and Improve the Environment

VISTA, CA--(Marketwire - April 9, 2008) - EarthLite (www.earthlite.com), an industry leader in corporate environmental sustainability, expands its Plant-A-Tree initiative by partnering with American Forests' Global ReLeaf® Campaign (www.americanforests.org). Global ReLeaf is American Forests' education and action program that helps individuals, organizations, agencies and corporations improve the local and global environment by planting and caring for trees.

Plant-A-Tree programs are responsible for eliminating hundreds of thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the atmosphere each year. One acre of trees will offset the CO2 emissions of one vehicle from US highways for a year*. "Everyone can have a significant positive impact on the environment by participating in Plant-A-Tree program sponsorships," says Jim Chenevey, CEO of EarthLite. "It is refreshing to see other companies starting to value and incorporate eco-friendly policies as well."

"Since the program's creation in 1988, Global ReLeaf has supported plantings of over 25 million trees worldwide," said Deborah Gangloff, Executive Director of American Forests. "We are pleased with our new partnership with EarthLite and their commitment to the environment."

EarthLite's Plant-A-Tree initiative is part of the company's five core "Guiding Principles" to be earth friendly. "We will honor our company's commitment to show respect for nature and maintain environmental integrity by planting a tree for every massage and spa table sold," continued Chenevey. "We are very proud of our heritage as an environmentally responsible company and our partnership with American Forests is a natural extension of our existing Earth Friendly Guiding Principle.

EarthLite's long history of environmental and social consciousness started at the inception of the company over 20 years ago. Guiding Principles including Earth Friendly and Global Responsibility are the company's core competencies demanded in every product developed and sold from EarthLite and its affiliates. Extensive recycling programs, energy conservation, sustainable material sources, water based lacquers and glues, CFC-free cushioning systems and eco-friendly 100% PU Natursoft® vinyl (PVC-free) are just a few of the programs that define the company's commitment to the environment, to its customers and to its employees.

American Forests joins EarthLite's growing plant-a-tree partnerships which include Sustainable Harvest and Trees for the Future.

American Forests (www.americanforests.org) works to protect, restore and enhance the natural capital of trees and forests. Healthy forests filter water, remove air pollution, sequester carbon and provide home for wildlife. Through community-based initiatives, they help people understand the many values of trees and restore forest ecosystems in urban and rural areas. Their work encompasses tree planting, urban forestry, environmental education and community-based forestry.

Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) (www.sustainableharvest.org) is building a global network of local partners working toward environmental, economic and social sustainability. SHI facilitates long-term collaboration among trained local staff, farmers and communities to implement sustainable land-use practices that alleviate poverty by restoring ecological stability.

Trees for the Future (www.plant-trees.org) has helped thousands of worldwide improve their livelihood and their environment by planting nearly 50 million trees since 1989. It is calculated that these trees remove approximately one million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere each year. Through seed distribution, agroforestry training, and local country programs, they have empowered rural groups to restore tree cover and sustainable productive life to over 25,000 acres of land that had previously been degraded and abandoned. The trees offer food, fodder, fuel and medicine for the farmers as well as shade, fertilizer and biodiversity for the landscape.
