The Cancer Vixen Fund at SVCMC was founded by Author Marisa Acocella Marchetto and Co-Chair Grace dos Santos. Marisa, an artist and freelance cartoonist for the New Yorker and Glamour magazines, was uninsured when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. She received treatment at St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center. Cancer Vixen Spalapalooza! is a glamourizing, good karma-fying, fabulous, cancer-kicking FUNdraiser for Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers to provide breast care and well-being for the uninsured and underinsured.
